How We Handled the Project – S/4Hana Best Practices in Action
SHARP-X is the project aimed at consolidating and standardizing financial processes within a global organization across Europe with the S/4HANA SAP CFIN. It allows users to connect the current SAP ECC ERP to CFIN for document and data replication in real-time.
To enable real-time data replication, the company needed to migrate key financial master data and transactional data to SAP CFIN. It included material, customer, and vendor. Overall, the biggest challenge was to ensure all the 30 local companies use the data standards provided by the global organization. So, they opted for our Data Migration Workbench to meet these challenges. Additionally, our consultants were responsible for setting up and administrating data validation environments for 30 countries.
First, we set up validations according to the standards provided by the global data stewards. Then we ran them on on a daily basis in source ERP systems on a database level. This gave our consultants a clear overview of the data quality level in each local company. Furthermore, it allowed them to track the data cleansing progress continuously.
Moreover, SAPMD consultants took part in the data migration process where they used Advanced Data Migration (ADM) by Synity and Business objects data services (BODS) to enable the migration itself and real-time data replication.
